The challenge

Effectively hiring in the life sciences industry requires a strong understanding of incredibly niche sectors and roles. Following a recommendation from their personal network, an industry-leading boutique consultancy in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and cosmetics compliance sector approached EPM Scientific because they required an external consultant to join them as a Managing Director, as part of a transition plan when the founder started to take a step back.

This was a crucial hire for the business. They needed to navigate the transition without disruption to not jeopardize their industry-leading position, keep projects running and continue to grow, so having a talent partner who truly understood the market gave them an edge.

We heavily screened over 100 potential candidates – reviewing credentials, analyzing experience and testing abilities in compliance strategy, innovation in life sciences, and crisis and change management, as well as leadership assessments to ensure we were shortlisting only the best fit to our client.

Nine candidates were sent, and six were interviewed, displaying our ability to source incredibly strong candidates that truly aligned to the role our client was looking for.
