Role Summary:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will serve as a critical bridge between the company and the medical community, fostering relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals. This role involves delivering scientific and clinical insights, supporting educational initiatives, and contributing to the development and launch of innovative therapies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain strong, credible relationships with KOLs, academic institutions, and healthcare professionals within the Mid-Atlantic territory.
- Provide accurate and balanced scientific information about products and related disease areas to healthcare professionals.
- Support product launches and ongoing medical education initiatives.
- Gather and report clinical and scientific insights from the field to inform internal strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Commercial, to align on strategic objectives.
- Support clinical trials, including site identification and investigator engagement.
- Represent the company at regional and national medical conferences and events.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree required (OD, PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent) with relevant ophthalmology experience.
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison.
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmology therapeutic areas and related clinical practices.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently across a large geographic area.
- Willingness to travel extensively (up to 70%) within the territory.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Established network of KOLs within the ophthalmology field.
