The main focus of the Sales Specialist position is to effectively and efficiently support the sales of instrument service offerings with heavy focus on Service Level Agreements. This individual will be directly supporting Customers as well as the service sales activities of the Field Sales Team, Inside Sales Support, Application Specialists, Field Service Engineers, amongst others. They will also review Service quotes as needed for accuracy and compliance to service level parameters. In addition, they will develop opportunities for planned maintenance, and prepare and quote contracts.
An essential part of this role is the active use of the CRM system to manage sales activities and customer interactions effectively.
Main Responsibilities & Tasks
- Promote the organization's products and services within an assigned geographic area, product range or key account to achieve sales and revenue targets
- Identify new business opportunities aligned with the organization's overall market and growth strategy
- Actively use the CRM to manage and document leads and opportunities, all customer interactions and sales activities, to ensure information is accurate and up to date
- Analyze CRM data for customers to identify trends, generate customer insights and track sales performance
- Drive newly launched innovative products and services into the marketplace and follow up on the successful implementation of sales activity
- Assess and analyze customer needs, generate leads, respond to customer inquiries and suggest products and services where necessary
- Coordinate and participate in marketing activities in assigned territory
- Proactively assess the potential of each customer and plan to realize it into business
Qualification & Skills
- Academic degree in business, life sciences or engineering preferred (higher level of education would be beneficial)
- Minimum 3 years field sales experience, with preferable laboratory / process based experience in Life Science
- Hands-on knowledge and proactive usage of CRM tools
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated, energetic, results oriented, capacity to work independently with high degree of responsiblity
- Good teamwork skills and proven ability to also work with cross-functional teams
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently
- Experience in software skills, e.g. Microsoft Office
