Vice President, Medical Affairs - Oncology Focus
Overview:
A leading organization in the oncology space is seeking a Vice President of Medical Affairs to drive medical strategy, scientific leadership, and commercial alignment. This executive role will oversee medical affairs functions, ensuring scientific integrity, clinical relevance, and business impact. The VP will work closely with R&D, commercial, and regulatory teams to support product development, market adoption, and external engagement with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and lead the medical affairs strategy, aligning with corporate and commercial goals.
- Ensure scientific and clinical integrity across all initiatives, from product development to market execution.
- Provide thought leadership in oncology, staying ahead of emerging trends and scientific advancements.
Commercial & Business Integration:
- Collaborate with commercial and sales teams to translate scientific value into business growth.
- Support market expansion by engaging with key opinion leaders (KOLs), payers, and healthcare providers.
- Drive medical engagement strategies to enhance brand awareness and product adoption.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with R&D teams to guide clinical development and data generation.
- Work with regulatory and compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry standards and guidelines.
- Lead medical education and communication efforts, both internally and externally.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing medical affairs team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) with a strong background in oncology.
- 10+ years of experience in medical affairs, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of driving business growth through medical strategy.
- Strong network within the oncology and biotech/pharma industries.
- Expertise in regulatory, clinical, and commercial aspects of medical affairs.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage scientific and non-scientific audiences.
