Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities: Explore new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services
- Develop and implement strategic business plans: Achieve revenue and growth targets by creating and executing comprehensive business strategies
- Forge and maintain strong relationships: Build and nurture relationships with key contacts in existing and new accounts, including negotiating and closing deals
- Lead cross-functional teams: Coordinate with various departments to ensure successful execution of strategies and projects
- Analyze market strategies: Research industry and market trends to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities
- Manage complex contract negotiations: Work with legal counsel as required to negotiate and finalize contracts
- Mentor and coach junior staff: Develop the business development capabilities of junior team members
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in business development or sales, with a proven track record of achieving revenue and growth targets
- Skills: Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, excellent communication and presentation abilities, strategic thinking, and methodical execution
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the life sciences and genomic solutions industry is a plus
